Legends of Runeterra launches later this month

Aside from shooters, auto-battlers and a new fighting game, Riot has also been working on Legends of Runeterra, its very own strategy card game based on the League of Legends universe. The game has been in beta on PC for a while now and soon, it will be freely available for all, across PC and mobile.

Legends of Runeterra will launch out of beta on April 30th across PC, iOS and Android. The game is also launching with a new set of over 120 cards, so beta players will have new things to discover as well as those picking the game up for the first time.

In all, the launch version will feature 7 regions (card classes), 35 champions and over 400 cards. Those playing during the launch period can earn an exclusive Moonstruck Poro Guardian too just by logging in before the 7th of May.

Anyone who played the beta will keep their card collection and progress. However, the ranked season will reset as soon as the 1.0 patch goes live. All progress is also tied to your Riot account, so your card collections, stats and decks etc, are all accessible across both the PC and mobile versions. Moving forward, developers hope to bring updates to Legends of Runeterra every two weeks, so there will be a good content roadmap to look forward to.

KitGuru Says: I regularly play Runeterra myself on PC, so I'll be looking forward to checking things out at launch and seeing those new cards. Valve will be coming back into the picture soon too with Artifact 2.0, so it will be interesting to see how these games compare later in the year.
