BioWare staffing up for a new game in one of its ‘most prestigious’ franchises

Anthem may not have been the big successful new IP that we wanted from BioWare but older fans of the studio will have something to look forward to soon. Recent job listings show that BioWare is currently staffing up for a new project based on one of its “most prestigious franchises”.

The job listing (via PCGamesInsidercalls for a new technical director to join BioWare, acting as “the most senior engineering lead on the next major title in one of BioWare's most prestigious franchises”. Notably, Dragon Age isn't mentioned, despite the next game in that franchise already being publicly announced. With that in mind, this looks like a job listing for something newer and currently unannounced.

There has been recent talk of a Knights of the Old Republic reboot but Star Wars is not a BioWare franchise, so this is unlikely to be that. What we could be looking at though, is an early indication that the next Mass Effect is entering development for PC and next-gen consoles.

We don't know for sure yet, but BioWare is revisiting its roots for this next game, so hopefully we'll hear more on that soon.

KitGuru Says: Personally, I'm hoping for a new Mass Effect to come out of this but we'll have to wait and see. Is there an old BioWare franchise that you would like to see the studio return to soon?
