SteelSeries has acquired A-Volute, the company behind Nahimic audio software

SteelSeries has announced the acquisition of A-Volute, a developer of 3D sound software for enhanced gaming experiences, including the Nahimic software. With this acquisition, SteelSeries aims to improve its audio software and hardware with the expertise of A-Volute.

SteelSeries has been at the forefront of gaming peripherals for almost 20 years, offering multiple products designed for all type of gamers. The SteelSeries Engine, the company's software for its peripherals, has millions of downloads and it has been integrated within various games and apps. With a strong presence in the gaming peripheral market, SteelSeries' claims its global growth was achieved because of its successful products, including the Arctis line of headsets which has “redefined the category as is the new standard in excellence in gaming audio hardware”.

As per TechPowerUp, A-Volute is an indie audio software developer with 150 man-years of R&D in its area of expertise. With over twenty audio, DSP, driver and software engineers in France, Taiwan, and Singapore, A-Volute's know-how create a new and better SteelSeries Engine software. A-Volute plans to add “unique and relevant features” fitting SteelSeries's vision of its own software.

A-Volute's current customer base, that consists of multiple laptop manufacturers, is a proof of the quality of its products. Ehtisham Rabbani, CEO of SteelSeries, hopes that A-Volute will help the company improve the audio experience of gamers.

Financial terms regarding this acquisition haven't been shared, given that A-Volute is a private company.
