Minix announces the Neo U22-XJ Android media hub

The new Minix Neo UX22-XJ is designed to be the centre of entertainment for your home. Capable of reproducing high-resolution 4K videos, this machine is a compact device designed to offer functionality in a sleek-looking package.

The Minix Neo UX22-XJ comes with Android 9.0 Pie, and it's equipped with a processor with 4x Cortex A73 cores and 2x Cortex A53 cores, paired with a Mali-G52 MP4, 4GB of DDR4 RAM and 32GB of eMMC 5.1 storage.

Capable of 4K content playback and supporting H.265 hardware decoding – as well as HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision content – the U22-XJ creates an “immersive, engaging cinematic experience that brings entertainment to life”. To further improve your watching experience, there is also support for Dolby Audio surround sound.

Regarding connectivity, there are 802.11ac 2 x 2 MIMO Dual-Band Wi-Fi and a Gigabit Ethernet port, and it supports Bluetooth 4.1. There's a Dual-Band antenna screw mount to improve the reception of the Wi-Fi signal as well as a Kensington lock. Other ports include 1x HDMI 2.1 port, 1x S/PDIF port, 1x 3.5mm Mic jack, 1x TF card slot, 1x USB 3.0 Type-C port, and 3x USB3.0 Type-A ports.

Measuring 128x128x28mm (LxWxH), the UX22-XJ was designed to be inaudible while running. The cooling system of the media hub diverts the heat from the centre of the device to ensure that it doesn't throttle under load, allowing it to be used for long periods of time. Additionally, the fanless design and the absence of moving parts inside the U22-XJ makes its operation completely silent.
