Leaked concept art hints at Rocksteady Superman game that may no longer be in the works

It has been a while since Rocksteady confirmed that its next project would not be a Superman game. Since then, there has been plenty who believe that it definitely was something the studio was working on at one point. Now, there may be some proof thanks to a new concept art leak and a report citing inside sources.

First up is the concept art, drawn and posted online by Joël Dos Reis Viegas as part of his portfolio. Looking at his past work, Viegas was contracted for concept art on both Batman Arkham Origins and Arkham Knight. In the mix of those concept designs is a peculiar drawing of Superman flying through a city.

According to James Sigfield, the same person who previously leaked Warner Bros Games plans for E3 and the Batman game being worked on at WB Montreal, Rocksteady did pitch a Superman game to WB following Arkham Knight, but the publisher took a pass, leaving Rocksteady to work on something else.

The lone piece of Superman concept art is also speculated to feature ‘New Gotham', which made its way into Arkham Knight. That is unfortunately all the information we have for now, but it could lead to more sources speaking out.

KitGuru Says: I would have liked to see Rocksteady's take on Superman but from the sounds of it, we won't be getting that any time soon. Hopefully at some point this year, we can hear something more official on Rocksteady's new project.
