QNAP introduce two new USB JBOD storage enclosures

QNAP has announced the launch of two new multi-platform USB 3.2 Gen 2 JBOD storage enclosures including an 8-bay desktop model and a 12-bay 3U rackmount redundant power model designed for NAS, PCs and servers.

The new TL series USB JBOD enclosures from QNAP could be used to expand QNAP NAS storage capacity or also as an additional storage solution for PCs. TL USB JBOD provides a cross-platform solution for convenient file-sharing due to its flexibility and acts as a highly efficient storage expansion option.

The 8-bay TL-D800C and 12-bay TL-R1200C-RP storage enclosures can be rolled out in conjunction with QNAP NAS and allow users to set RAID parameters and create storage pools using the Storage and Snapshots app in QTS. The JBOD storage enclosures could also be utilised as a standalone NAS external device and can be controlled via Windows, MAC and Ubuntu operating systems using the JBOD Manager desktop utility to view information on JBOS health status, fan speed and to update the firmware.

Included with the TL-D800C and TL-R1200C-RP JBOD storage enclosures is a single USB Gen 2 Type-C to Type-A cable, additional cables to connect the enclosures to a host device with USB Type-C interface can be purchased separately. Both the TL-D800C and TL-R1200C-RP support remote file transfer and plug and play features meaning the TL USB JBOD can be moved location and quickly up and running, making data migration simple.

Each disk inside the QNAP TL USB JBOD enclosure can be treated as individual external storage solutions and used as a removable drive for flexibility. The JBOD enclosures support 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch SATA 6 Gbps HDDs or SSDs and the rackmount version supports redundant power supplies for uninterrupted uptime. Both models are equipped with USB 3.2 Gen 2 10 Gbps Type-C connectivity.
