Huawei announced this week that its MatePad Pro is now available for pre-order via its online store ahead of the official 8th May release date. The flagship tablet will come bundled with a free Huawei MatePad M-Pen and a MatePad Keyboard.

The new Huawei MatePad Pro sports a minimalist design with a large display and ultra-slim bezels to achieve a screen to body ratio of 90% and is powered by the 7nm Kirin 990 chipset to offer exceptional performance and battery lifespan. The tablet will run EMUI10 out of the box which supports Multi-Window, Multi-Screen and Huawei APP Multiplier functions.

To maximise productivity with the MatePad Pro, support for the Huawei M-Pencil and Smart Magnetic Keyboard is featured, as well as a PC Mode. A Kirin 990 chipset inside the MatePad Pro is manufactured on a 7nm process with a CPU base clock speed of 2.86 GHz and a total of eight cores. According to Huawei, The 16-core Mali-G76 GPU offers greatly improved performance and efficiency to prolong battery life in the MatePad Pro. The excellent battery life of the MatePad Pro is also due to the device being fitted with a high capacity 7250 mAh battery and the power-saving features integrated into the chipset and operating system.

The MatePad Pro is also equipped with Huawei’s dual-core Da Vinci NPU architecture, with AI computing capabilities optimised between cores. There is also 8GB LPDDR4X memory to help with the speed of loading app, as well as a 12-layer cooling system that works with AI to manage heat, which allows the device to remain cool even when workload demands are high.
