Apple is forging ahead with plans for its 2020 iPhone lineup, which will reportedly come with a redesign, taking inspiration from the iPad Pro. Currently, the iPad Pro ships with a flat-edge design and later this year, it looks like next iPhone Pro will as well.
According to Bloomberg, there will be two iPhone Pro models this year, each with three camera sensors on the back and a LIDAR 3D-scanning system, similar to the one found on the new iPad Pro.
The new flat edge design for the iPad Pro will also lead to a ‘slightly larger' display than the iPhone 11 Pro Max. We could potentially be looking at a 6.7-inch display for the largest iPhone in the lineup this year. The notch for the Face-ID scanner and front facing camera is also likely going to be smaller this year.
Apple is not expecting the coronavirus pandemic to cause major delays for its annual September product refresh, although there could be a staggered release, similarly to the iPhone 8 and iPhone X, which released several weeks apart.
KitGuru Says: If all of this proves true, then this year's iPhone could resemble the iPhone 4/5 generation, albeit with much larger displays than back then. Are any of you going to be upgrading smartphones this year? Are you keeping an eye out for the next iPhone, or will you be going with Android?
