Crash Bandicoot Mobile soft-launches in select countries

Ever since the Crash Bandicoot Trilogy was remade for current hardware in 2017, fans of the series have been wondering what was next for the platformer. 2019 saw the remake of Crash Team Racing, and now following on from that is Crash Bandicoot Mobile, “A new kind of Crash adventure featuring your favorite characters!” Leaked back in February, the auto-runner has soft-launched for Android users in Malaysia – though fans in other countries can still get their hands on the game.

Developed by King, who are known best for the Candy Crush series of games, Crash Bandicoot Mobile is described as “A new kind of Crash adventure featuring your favorite characters! Crash & Coco team up to put a stop to Dr Neo Cortex's evil plan to destroy the multiverse!.”

Being an auto-runner, the game features three lanes which crash can use to pick up wumpa fruit while avoiding enemies and traps. As the game is currently only available in Malaysia, early impressions are sparse though positive. Of course, being a free mobile game, the title does feature many of the classic trappings of a free-to-play mobile title.

Still, to those outside of Malaysia who own an Android phone, the APK is available to download with an english option enabled, meaning that the game can be sideloaded. For iOS users, and those who would rather wait for an official launch, it is currently unknown when the game will see a wider release.

Though Crash Bandicoot Mobile appears to be a relatively inoffensive free-to-play mobile game, hopefully Activision has a full console-quality title in the works for fans who wish to play a new Crash title on more dedicated hardware.
