First screenshots of Halo 3 and ODST on PC released

Last month, the big Halo 2 flight kicked off, meaning the finishing touches on the PC release are now in the works with a release date just on the horizon. Alongside Halo 2, the team bringing The Master Chief Collection to PC has also been working on Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST, which we can now take our first look at.

Halo 3 is where the series officially veered away from PC entirely, remaining as an Xbox console exclusive for all future mainline titles. We have seen a modified version of the Halo 3 engine running on PC, thanks to the ill-fated Halo: Online, but this will be the first time we’ve seen the proper game running on non-console hardware.

In the screenshots above you can get a quick glimpse at Halo 3 and ODST running on PC. It isn’t a graphical showcase by modern standards, but the older Halo games still look pretty solid all these years later.

We don’t have specific release dates yet, but 343 Industries wants to finish the full Master Chief Collection on PC before the end of this year, giving PC-only fans a chance to catch up and dive into Halo: Infinite, which will be coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC on day-one later this year.

KitGuru Says: I’m looking forward to finishing Halo 2 after playing all of the available content in alpha, but I have a feeling Halo 3 is going to be the biggest release for MCC on PC. Have many of you been keeping up with The Master Chief Collection? Are you looking forward to Halo 3 on PC?
