Scarlet Nexus confirmed for PC, current-gen and next-gen consoles

Scarlet Nexus is Bandai Namco's latest action RPG, which is being developed by the same team behind Tales Of Vesperia. The company has already confirmed that its new game will be released for Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam.

In Scarlet Nexus you play as Yuito Sumeragi, a young man with psycho-kinesis abilities. In the city of New Himuka, Yuito will unveil the mysteries of a “Brain Punk future” where both technology and psychic abilities exist.

Psychic abilities exist because of a “psionic hormone” in the human brain. As humans ascend, a species of mutants called Others descend from the sky to eat human brains. Unable to defeat them with normal weapons, humans with psychic abilities are humanity's last hope.

Keita Iizuka, the producer of Scarlet Nexus, said that “players can expect visuals and psychic battles with high resolution and frame rate along with fully interactive real-time battles with dynamic animation” because of the power of the upcoming home consoles. Stephen Akana, senior brand manager at Bandai Namco America, stated that one of the game's objective is to alter the way gamers perceive the JRPG genre, by showing futuristic visuals and a dynamic combat system that combines both action and strategy.

There's still no information as to when the game will be available, but we're expecting it to be after the release of the next-gen consoles. Scarlet Nexus will feature Xbox Smart Delivery, meaning you can play the best version of the game regardless of the console you own. You can learn more about Scarlet Nexus on the game's official website.
