Call of Duty is reportedly coming to Game Pass this week

Earlier this month, shortly following the announcement of the new Game Pass pricing and tier structure, rumours began claiming that Call of Duty would finally land on Game Pass this month. Now, a more specific date has been revealed by a number of known leakers.

Insider Gaming is reporting that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be the first COD title to join the Game Pass library on the 24th of July. Other sources, including Xbox leaker eXtas1s and XboxEra, have also been claiming the 24th of July as the date. If true, Microsoft will be making an official announcement within the next 48 hours.

This means Game Pass subscribers who skipped Modern Warfare 3 can jump into multiplayer, or go back and experience the campaign, although do be warned, it is very different to traditional COD campaigns, taking place in a large open world map. As Modern Warfare 3 isn't a ‘day-one' title, it won't be affected by Microsoft's recent changes, which removes day-one games from the new Game Pass standard tier.

Recently, it has also been claimed that more Activision back-catalogue titles will be joining Game Pass soon. So far, only one game, Diablo 4, has made its way into the Game Pass library. Microsoft is coming up towards the one-year anniversary of acquiring Activision Blizzard, so it is about time we finally saw some movement on this.
