Remedy gives update on Control 2, Max Payne Remake and FBC: Firebreak

Remedy Entertainment has made some of the most interesting single-player games of the past decade, from 2016's Quantum Break to 2019's Control, to 2023's Alan Wake 2. Remedy has a lot of projects in the works currently, and recently studio head updated us all on each of them.

As part of Remedy's latest earnings report, CEO, Tero Virtala, confirmed the status of its development roadmap. Unfortunately, there was also some bad news, as it has been confirmed that Alan Wake 2 has still not earned any royalties, but hopefully that will change now that the game's second expansion, The Lake House, has released.

Remedy's next major title will be Control 2, which is heading into full production in 2025. In the meantime, the studio will also be releasing its first multiplayer game, FBC: Firebreak, which is set in the Control universe. Previously, this game was in development under the codename ‘Condor'.

The upcoming remakes of Max Payne 1 & 2 are also still in production and will be published in partnership with Rockstar Games, who own the IP. It is unclear of Max Payne 3 will also see some kind of update after the remakes come out.

KitGuru Says: Max Payne was one of the first shooters I ever played on original Xbox. Prior to that, I'd mostly played RPGs and fighting games, so I'm really looking forward to revisiting these classics when the remakes drop.
