Lenovo’s Duet is a new 2-in-1 Chromebook

Lenovo has just released a new 2-in-1 portable Chromebook, which it claims is ideal for mobile productivity. Lenovo says the IdeaPad Duet Chromebook is “one of the thinnest, lightest and most hotly anticipated Chromebooks in the world” thanks to its feature set, specifications and affordable pricing.

Featuring an 8-core MediaTek Helio P60T CPU, an ARM G72 MP3 clocked at 800MHz, 4GB of LPDDR4X memory and Chrome OS, the Duet is available with 64GB or 128GB of storage. Battery life is rated to last up to 10 hours, and the 10.1-inch IPS 10-point multitouch screen comes with a 1920×1200 resolution (16:10 aspect ratio), 400 nit brightness and covers 70% of the NTSC colour gamut. Additionally, the Duet has an 8MP rear-camera, a 2MP front camera, 1x USB Type-C port, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, and 2x Dolby Audio speakers.

The chassis of the Duet is made of an aluminium alloy, and the cover and keyboard allow for three distinct modes: typing, watching and browsing. Compatible with USI Stylus pens, the Duet includes the improvements made to Chromebook tablet mode. By detaching the keyboard, the tablet changes from laptop mode to tablet mode, enabling easy and seamless switch between both modes.

The tablet itself measures 239.8×159.8×7.35mm (LxWXH), weighs 450g and features a unique dual-tone design with Ice Blue and Iron Grey colours. The included keyboard is dark grey and weighs 250g, while the stand cover is made of a premium grey fabric material and weighs 220g. When all combined, the total weight is 970g, making it a very portable device even when fully equipped.

By default, the Duet includes Calculator, Chrome Browser, Chrome Canvas, Files, Google Docs, Google Drive, Google Keep, Google Play Movies, Google Play Music, Google Play Store, Google Sheets, and Google Slides apps.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Chromebook Duet is available now in the US for $279.99. Pricing and availability in Europe and the UK is not known yet. You can learn more about the Duet HERE.
