Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order gets a free update with new combat challenges

There was plenty of Star Wars news going around yesterday in celebration of May 4th. We saw sales, updates for old games and also some new DLC for the highly praised Jedi: Fallen Order. There won’t be much in this update for pure story fans, but if you enjoyed the combat system, the new update may just draw you back in.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is getting an arena combat mode, which can be accessed at the meditation points spread throughout the game. There are 12-tiered combat challenges in total, in which you will fight increasingly harder groups of enemies, similar to the combat challenges found in other games, like the Batman Arkham series.

If you would rather design your own combat challenge, then there is also a ‘battle grid’ mode, which lets you drop enemies onto the map wherever you want. You can also set difficulty modifiers and fight two characters that you couldn’t during the main campaign- Jaro Tapal and Cal Kestis.

Other new features include New Game+ and a bunch of new cosmetics for Cal, your ship, BD-1 etc, so if you fancy diving in again, there is more to discover.

KitGuru Says: I’ve been itching to play Fallen Order again myself, so I may have to reinstall it for this weekend. Have any of you checked out this new update? Or are you thinking about picking the game up for the first time?
