Call of Duty: Modern Warfare now takes up over 200GB of storage space

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has continued to balloon in size since launching late last year. At this point, the full game install takes up over 200GB of HDD space, as another hefty patch has just been released.

The latest Call of Duty: Modern Warfare patch is 30GB on PC, 31GB on Xbox One and just over 20GB on PS4. The latest update adds more multiplayer, Warzone and Spec-Ops content, but players are beginning to become frustrated with the consistently large downloads and loss of storage space.

This news unfortunately comes just after players had to endure a huge 60GB patch. Then in other cases, there are errors where some have to download the full game again. One such error occurred during Warzone Season 2, in which some players had to redownload 150GB of game files.

At this point, Infinity Ward has not announced plans for a Warzone-only client, or addressed frustrations over consistently huge patches. Hopefully the conversation will get rolling now though, as 200GB is a lot for a single game.
