Grand Theft Auto V is free until May 21

Grand Theft Auto V: Premium Edition is the latest free game offering from the Epic Games Store. After the initial announcement was accidentally posted early on Epic Games' Twitter account, offering GTA V for free temporarily downed the Epic Games Store website due to the excessive traffic.

The game has just been dropped from Xbox Game Pass, but it seems that Epic is giving gamers another chance to get the game for free. Given how famous GTA V is, it's not hard to believe that the Epic Games Store crashed when the e-retailer decided to give it away for free. The store was unavailable for some time, but it's working properly now.

The GTA V: Premium Edition includes the base game, Grand Theft Auto Online, and all gameplay upgrades and content including The Doomsday Heist, Gunrunning, Smuggler’s Run, Bikers and more. Additionally, the Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack is also included to boost your life of crime in GTA Online, giving users $10,000,000 worth of goods.

Grand Theft Auto V has received very favourable reviews, getting a score of 96 on OpenCritic rating average. It is considered one of the best games of 2013 – and arguably the decade – and to-date has sold more than 120 million copies across all platforms, resulting in $6 billion in worldwide revenue and making it one of the most financially successful entertainment products of all time. Multiple critics have praised the satirical approach, wide sandbox open-world and fantastic gameplay, claiming GTA V as the best game of the series.

You can pick up Grand Theft Auto V: Premium Edition on the Epic Games Store for free HERE until the 21st of May at 4PM. Next week's game hasn't been revealed yet, but it will be announced once the period to grab GTA V has ended.
