Valve shows Artifact 2.0 gameplay for the first time

Earlier this week, Valve updated us on its plans for the Artifact 2.0 beta and the game's eventual relaunch. Invites to the beta test are still set to go out by next week and for those wanting to see what the new and improved version looks and plays like beforehand, there is new footage for you.

In an unlisted video simply titled ‘Artifact Beta 2.0!', Valve shows off the new draft mode, with players picking cards and then going head to head in a match:

The changes are immediately noticeable, but it is important to note that art and graphical effects are not final. So perhaps some of the higher fidelity visuals of Artifact 1.0 will return later down the line but for now, Valve wants to make sure it gets the gameplay and mechanics just right. There is also some temporary card art included in the video, so expect more visual changes in the months to come.

The Artifact 2.0 beta will prioritise those who purchased the original game before March 2020, so early adopters should be the first to get hands-on with the changes.

KitGuru Says: I was a big fan of Artifact at launch but I'll be keeping an open mind for the new beta. Are any of you interested in revisiting this following Valve's lengthy re-development?
