Last night during Inside Xbox, CODEMASTERS announced Dirt 5 for the Xbox Series X, complete with an announcement trailer. There is one key detail about this game that was not mentioned in the trailer though- Dirt 5 will have a full 120 frames per second mode on Microsoft's next-gen console.
Microsoft's Phil Spencer has been championing higher frame rates and smoother gameplay over the last couple of years and it looks like there are already some games delivering on that. During an interview with one of the game's developers at the end of last night's Inside Xbox, at least two graphical/frame rate options were confirmed.
So Dirt 5 will support 4K at 60 frames per second on Xbox Series X, which is what we see in the gameplay trailer. However, thanks to the extra power available on the new console, there is also a 120 frames per second mode for even better performance.
Dirt 5 is also coming to PlayStation 5, PC and Google Stadia. Higher frame rates and settings will of course be achievable on PC, but we do not yet know what options will be present on PS5 or Google Stadia. We could be seeing Microsoft pull away on the power-front right from the get-go.

KitGuru Says: Hopefully we will see even more games offering ultra-responsive 120 FPS modes on Xbox Series X, although I do expect those games to be in the minority. What do you all think of the Xbox Series X so far?
