Earlier today, a job listing for Sony Interactive Entertainment seemingly pinpointed the PS5 launch date for October. This tied in with other rumours, as the news release for Dirt 5 labelled the game as coming to ‘next gen consoles' in October too. As it turns out though, October won't be the big month for those looking to upgrade.
We already know that Microsoft is sticking with ‘Holiday 2020', giving us a November/December window for the Xbox Series X. Sony has not said quite as much about its plans for the year, so a job listing mentioning the PS5 launch month was naturally taken as big news.
However, Famitsu reached out to Sony Japan to get clarification on this. According to a spokesperson speaking with the outlet, the job listing is incorrect. The mistake was made by a recruiting company that Sony is working with to draw in new employees.
At this point, Sony is expected to be making its next big PS5 announcements in June, so we should get more news then.

KitGuru Says: Sony could be a bit more open about its PS5 plans, especially if it is still planned for a 2020 launch. Hopefully some of the mystery will be cleared up in the next few weeks.
