Ubisoft announces Anno History Collection releasing next month

If you missed out on the older games in the Anno series, or just want to revisit them with support for modern PCs and display resolutions, then you are in luck. Today, Ubisoft announced the Anno History Collection, containing the first four Anno games in one package.

Anno 1602, Anno 1503, Anno 1701 and Anno 1404 are all included and have been updated to make better use of modern PCs without changing the classic gameplay. The messaging here is very different to Warcraft 3 Reforged, which promised a substantial remake only to deliver a basic remaster. The Anno History Collection is not a remake, instead aiming to preserve the classic titles while making them more accessible on newer PCs.

All four of these games include the following features:

  • All games have been ported to 64-bit to improve performance and stability (so say goodbye to Anno 1404's memory issues)
  • Support for new resolutions up to 4K, which will make your empires look better than ever
  • Improved multiplayer features like Quickmatch and Desync-Recovery (based on the implementation in Anno 1800). And yes, Anno 1503 multiplayer is finally official.
  • Full compatibility for your old single player and multiplayer saves, so start looking for the old savegames
  • Of course, all extensions and any other official content that has been published over the years are included

The collection releases on June 25th for €39.99, alternatively, each game will be sold separately for €9.99.

KitGuru Says: Did many of you play the older Anno games back in the day? Are you planning on picking up these remasters at all?
