VR backpacks have been around for a while now but with each iteration, they get more powerful and user-friendly. Today, Zotac announced its new VR GO 3.0 backpack, improving performance by around 25 percent compared to the previous generation.
The Zotac VR GO 3.0 packs a gaming PC into a wearable form-factor, giving you full movement freedom within virtual reality. Technically, your VR headset is still going to be wired up, but since the PC powering it is mobile, you are essentially untethered and unrestricted.

There is a lightweight and sleek enclosure housing the system, and the fabric of the backpack uses a sweat-proof material. The downside is battery life, with the external battery dock offering 1 hour of uninterrupted gameplay. The batteries are hot-swappable though, so if you keep one on charge, you can switch over without shutting down your game and losing progress.

KitGuru Says: Given that there is short battery life, these systems still aren't a perfect solution. However, with hotswappable batteries and plenty of graphics power, a VR backpack is still a compelling option. Are any of you interested in something like this for VR gaming?
