Metroid Prime Trilogy remaster reportedly arriving next month

Though Metroid Prime 4 is likely still years away, fans have been yearning for a re-release of the first three entries in the Prime series for the Nintendo Switch. For years, there have been rumours of its existence, and it's looking as if now might be the time that the elusive remaster finally makes its appearance. According to a retailer listing, fans might be able to get their hands on the trilogy come the 19th of June.

The Metroid Prime Trilogy originally released between 2002 and 2007; later seeing a re-release for both the Nintendo Wii and the Wii U. Since the launch of the Switch in 2017, fans have been yearning for a release on Nintendo’s hybrid console.

Rumours of a Metroid Prime Trilogy remaster for the Switch have been circulating as early as 2018, but until now, the game had yet to come to fruition. It’s looking as though June may finally be the month that fans will be able to get their hands on this much-anticipated remaster however.

According to a listing by the Swedish retailer Inet, the Metroid Prime Trilogy remaster is set for a 19th of June release date. Of course, this isn't the first retail listing for the game, but the fact that its release is dated to be so close from now suggests that perhaps this time it may be the real deal.

Recent reports suggested that Nintendo wouldn’t be hosting any Directs for a while, though as was seen by the recent Paper Mario announcement, the publisher isn’t afraid to announce a new game out of the blue.

Whether this leak pans out or not, fans won’t have to wait too long, as if it is indeed correct, then the Metroid Prime Trilogy will arrive on the 19th of June. Time will tell.
