No Man’s Sky gets cross-platform multiplayer and comes to Game Pass tomorrow

No Man’s Sky has come a very long way since its original release, with a number of big, free expansions enhancing the game beyond expectations. Now starting tomorrow, the game will reach even more players as part of Xbox Game Pass for console and PC. Beyond that, full cross-play is also coming at the same time. 

Starting tomorrow on the 11th of June, No Man's Sky will officially join the Game Pass library for Xbox and PC, including all of the extra expansions added along the way, including the latest exo-mech expansion and the Nexus multiplayer hub.

While we knew about No Man's Sky coming to Game Pass already, Hello Games did keep one surprise under its sleeve- cross platform multiplayer. As part of an announcement today, the studio explains that it has spent “the past six months” working on this update.

“Over the past six months, we have been quietly reworking the networking back-end of the game to get all versions of the game onto one single multiplayer base”.

So starting with tomorrow's update, No Man's Sky players will be able to play with those from all other platforms, including Xbox One, PS4, Steam, GOG, Windows 10 and even the VR-supported version of the game. So not only will Game Pass expand the game's audience widely, but full cross-platform multiplayer will bring in an additional boost.
