Death Stranding PC system requirements announced

In just over a month, we'll be getting our first official look at Sony's first-party Decima Engine running on PC thanks to the release of Death Stranding. The engine produced incredible graphics on PS4 consoles and now we know what sort of hardware it is going to take too produce similar results on a PC.

Death Stranding launches on Steam and the Epic Games Store on July 14th, after a small delay from June 2020. The Decima Engine will be getting another showing on PC this year, as Sony is releasing Horizon Zero Dawn on Steam in the near future.

Here are the minimum and recommended system requirements for Death Stranding on PC:

Minimum:

  • OS: Windows 10.
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-3470 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200.
  • RAM: 8GB.
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 or AMD Radeon RX 560.

Recommended (30FPS)

  • OS: Windows 10.
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 or AMD Ryzen 5 1400.
  • RAM: 8GB.
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti or AMD Radeon RX 570.

Recommended (60FPS)

  • OS: Windows 10.
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-3770 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600.
  • RAM: 8GB.
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 590.

The game will also require 80GB of storage space to install and will utilise DirectX 12. While we don't know if those recommended settings are for 1080p gameplay, we can assume that will be the baseline for this hardware. It also means those with higher-end rigs should have no trouble running at higher frame rates, resolutions or graphical settings.

KitGuru Says: We have yet to see a first-party PlayStation game running on PC, so this is going to be a very interesting few months. From the looks of it, Death Stranding is going to be no trouble to run, now we just need to wait and see what system requirements will be needed for Horizon Zero Dawn.
