Star Wars Squadrons revealed in new trailer, releases this October

Over the weekend, EA confirmed plans to officially unveil Star Wars Squadrons. Now, the reveal trailer is live and we have proper details on EA Motive's first Star Wars title. As the name suggests, this is a space combat game and will include a single-player campaign as well as multiplayer.

Squadrons is set after the events of Return of the Jedi, a very similar timeline to the campaign from Star Wars: Battlefront II. With that in mind, we may see some familiar characters pop up along the way.

Star Wars Squadrons is first-person and will be one of the first EA games to support VR on PC. EA also has a VR version of Medal of Honor coming up soon from Respawn Entertainment.

The game is releasing on the 2nd of October for PC, Xbox One and PS4 with cross-platform multiplayer. Today's teaser trailer is just the beginning, as EA plans to show off more of the game at EA Play Live later this week.

KitGuru Says: While the game is set after Return of the Jedi, I do hope we get to visit some of the older space battles from the Star Wars films. Either way, we'll know much more later this week once EA Play gets underway. What do you all think of the Star Wars Squadrons announcement? Are any of you going to be trying this one out?
