Pico Interactive announce standalone Neo 2 VR headsets

Pico Interactive has announced that new VR headsets from the Pico Neo line are now available. Both the Neo 2 and Neo 2 Eye have been developed to deliver key VR solutions to the enterprise market and are built with business in mind.

Standalone Neo 2 VR headsets from Pico feature 4K resolution, enterprise functionality with six degrees of freedom and built-in spatial stereo speakers. The headsets are equipped with a comfortable and hygienic PU face interface and a unique counterbalanced design for extended use. They also claim to offer abundant space for users who wear prescription glasses and are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform with Boundless XR.

Pico has partnered with Tobii in the Neo 2 Eye version, which adds eye-tracking functionality to its base model. Eye-tracking should allow businesses to increase productivity and safety at work, as well as help to provide a better understanding of customer behaviour and increase training efficiency.

“It is fantastic to partner closely with Pico on the extraordinary Neo 2 Eye and to enable enterprise and professional users to unlock greater operational efficiency, provide powerful user insights, enhancing training, simulation and product development capabilities,” said Anand Srivatsa, Division CEO of Tobii Tech.

To help increase framerates, graphics fidelity and battery performance, the Neo 2 Eye includes dynamic foveated rendering powered by Tobii Spotlight Technology to reduce shading load in some applications by up to 72%. Additionally, Pico has partnered with other companies such as Mozilla to bring Firefox Reality Browser to its VR headsets to provide a more engaging work environment, something that the company feels is needed even more so with the current COVID-19 pandemic.

The Pico Neo 2 VR headset series is available to purchase now directly from Pico, with the Neo 2 priced at $699 and the Neo 2 Eye costing $899.
