AMD B550 motherboard spotted running Zen+ CPU & APU

When AMD announced the B550 chipset in April, it was said the chipset would only support Ryzen 3000 CPUs, so Zen and Zen+ CPUs/APUs were out of the question. Nonetheless, @momomo_us has shared a couple of screenshots, with CPU-Z validations of a B550 motherboard running a Ryzen 2600X and a Ryzen 5 3400G.

Many B550 motherboards' packaging even includes a badge stating that the boards only support Ryzen 3000 processors (Matisse) and the upcoming Ryzen 4000 processors (Vermeer) and APUs (Renoir). Based on this new information, there's a chance that AMD is changing tack based on the feedback it has received.

The screenshots shared by @momomo_us (Pinnacle Ridge, Picasso) show both a Ryzen 5 2600X processor and Ryzen 5 3400G APU running on an Asus TUF Gaming B550-Plus motherboard. Both chips are based on AMD's Zen+ architecture, which supposedly was not meant to be supported by the B550 chipset, but this may change with a new BIOS update.

As shown in these screenshots, the motherboard was running BIOS version 0608, dated from 15/06/2020. This BIOS is not a beta version, and is already available on the Asus support page for the TUF Gaming B550-Plus motherboard. The change log for this release doesn't include any reference to supporting Zen+ chips.

These screenshots should be legit, given that each has a CPU-Z validation ensuring its authenticity. Unfortunately, the AGESA version is unknown, as it's not revealed in any of the screenshots.
