Death Stranding gets PC launch trailer and DLSS 2.0 support

Death Stranding is officially coming to PC on the 14th of July. With just two weeks left to go, Kojima Productions has released a PC-specific launch trailer for the game, showing off some of it in action. We also have some new details on PC features, including support for Nvidia DLSS 2.0.

Death Stranding will be the first game utilising the ‘Decima Engine' to ship on PC, with Horizon Zero Dawn set to follow later this year. Here is the PC trailer from Hideo Kojima:

In terms of performance, you will be able to get a maximum frame rate of 240Hz at whatever resolution you have, including ultra-wide. FXAA and TAA are your anti-aliasing options but if you have an Nvidia RTX GPU, you can also enable DLSS 2.0, which should enable 4K/60fps on all RTX 20 GPUs, or over 100 frames per second at 1440p.

As a reminder, here are the system requirements for Death Stranding:

Minimum:

  • OS: Windows 10.
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-3470 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200.
  • RAM: 8GB.
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 or AMD Radeon RX 560.

Recommended (30FPS)

  • OS: Windows 10.
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 or AMD Ryzen 5 1400.
  • RAM: 8GB.
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti or AMD Radeon RX 570.

Recommended (60FPS)

  • OS: Windows 10.
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-3770 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600.
  • RAM: 8GB.
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 590.

The game will also require 80GB of storage space to install and will utilise DirectX 12. While we don’t know if those recommended settings are for 1080p gameplay, we can assume that will be the baseline for this hardware. It also means those with higher-end rigs should have no trouble running at higher frame rates, resolutions or graphical settings.

Death Stranding releases on Steam and the Epic Games Store on July 14th with a few PC-specific extras, like a wearable Headcrab from Half-Life.
