EKWB launches pumpless Quantum TBE DDC pump-reservoir combos

EK has launched a new pumpless Quantum Kinetic TBE 160 DDC Body D-RGB pump-reservoir combo. As strange as that may sound, as a ‘pumpless' pump-reservoir combo, users can attach their own DDC pump, which EK claims allows “for a more affordable upgrade process from the previous generation of reservoirs.”

The new EK-Quantum Kinetic TBE 160 DDC Body combos is, simply put, the “pumpless version” of the recently released Kinetic TBE combo. Equipped with six G1/4″ ports, there are two models of the Quantum TBE DDC available: acetal and plexiglass.

The RGB lighting that forms part of this pump-reservoir combo is delivered through a D-RGB LED strip that can be connected to a 3-pin LED header on a compatible motherboard, or to an RGB LED controller. Just like most EK products, these combos are compatible with most motherboard RGB software, including Asus Aura Sync, Gigabyte RGB Fusion, MSI Mystic Light Sync, and ASRock Polychrome Sync.

EK says it focused on the LED implementation for these combo units, hiding most “visible LED hotspots”. The reservoir tube has a 60mm diameter and is made of acrylic, and EK states the “sealing is performed by a quality EPDM o-ring”, while users can also replace the reservoir with a longer tube if they wish.

Both EK-Quantum Kinetic TBE 160 DDC Body combos are available now for €119.90 at the EK webshop. You can learn more about the plexiglass model HERE, and the acetal model HERE.
