It has been almost two years since Warner Bros' Harry Potter RPG first leaked, with very early gameplay footage and screenshots hitting the web. Things have been quiet since then, but sources are beginning to speak up, confirming that the game is set in an open-world Hogwarts and other details.
Speaking with Bloomberg's Jason Schreier, developers working on the game noted it as being among the ‘highest-profile projects' within Warner Bros. Interactive, with Avalanche Software leading development. The game is set in a ‘vast, open-world re-creation of Hogwarts and its surrounding areas'. You will be role-playing as your own Wizard, although story details are still unknown.
What we do know is that Harry Potter author, JK Rowling, has little involvement with the game. This is something that some developers wanted to be known, as recent comments from the author have stirred controversy.
Of course, there is also the report that Warner Bros. Interactive may be sold off to another publisher, but for now, development of the Harry Potter RPG remains on track. According to the report, it will be announced at a later date after the DC Fandome event in August, during which the next Batman game will be revealed.

KitGuru Says: The 2018 leaks drove a lot of hype, so hopefully the final product ends up being as good as we all hope. There is still no word on when the game will be officially announced though, so we could be waiting quite some time for more details.
