ASUS has introduced its latest networking solution, the RT-AX55 router that sports a “networking speed of about 1800Mbps — 574 Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and 1201 Mbps on the 5GHz band.”
ASUS' RT-AX55 supports the latest Wi-Fi standard, 802.11AX (Wi-Fi 6), which brings faster networking speeds and is designed to further advance Internet of Things devices (IoT). However, it's worth mentioning that Wi-Fi 6 only works with compatible devices – in other words, it might be a good idea to check if your devices support the new networking standard before investing in a Wi-Fi 6 router.

ASUS says that the 802.11ax Technology used in the new RT-AX55 has up to 80% better range than routers using last-gen's 802.11ac Technology. The RT-AX55 comes with “AiProtection Classic, powered by Trend Micro” which is designed to protect your devices and personal data from internet threats. All of the router's Ethernet ports – one uplink and four downstream – offer speeds of 1Gb/s.
