Crysis Remastered delayed following reaction to leaked gameplay trailer

Earlier this week, Crytek announced plans to release the Crysis Remastered gameplay trailer, showing off what the improved version looks like for the first time. It didn't take long for that trailer to leak ahead of time, leading to a spur of disappointed reactions from fans. As a result, Crytek is delaying the game.

Crysis Remastered will no longer be releasing on the 13th of July and no new release date has been set at this time. However, the development team will use this extra time to add extra polish to the game:

As you can see in the statement above, Crytek directly cites yesterday's trailer leak and the following reaction as the reason behind this delay. There is no word on exactly what these improvements will entail, but the team aims to bring Crysis Remastered up to “the PC and console breaking standard” we all know from past games in the series.

The new gameplay trailer will now come in “a few weeks” and the release will also likely be pushed back by a similar amount of time.

KitGuru Says: The Crysis Remastered trailer leak did look a tad disappointing but I had hoped that encoding/YouTube compression might be to blame. It turns out that may not be the case. Hopefully we can get another look at the game soon enough with improvements in place.
