Back in May Ubisoft released its first gameplay trailer for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Unfortunately, it appeared to feature very little gameplay. Though the publisher has yet to officially reveal anymore information regarding the upcoming action-adventure title, 30 minutes of uninterrupted gameplay has now leaked online, showcasing what fans can expect come its release later this year.
The gameplay footage is just over 30 minutes long and showcases many aspects of the upcoming game. Traversal, combat, cutscenes and upgrade mechanics are all shown off. Ubisoft has since been quick to pull the video off of video services, although a number of mirrors have popped up in its wake.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was first announced in April through the release of a cinematic trailer. Following that, it was confirmed that gameplay would be shown for the first time at the Xbox Series X 3rd-party reveal event in May. Unfortunately, many fans were left disappointed by the presentation due to the highly cinematic presentation of the ‘gameplay.’
While it is certainly unfortunate for Ubisoft that the gameplay leaked in the manner it did (i.e. uncontrolled and compressed), it is nice to finally get a real look at the game. Hopefully in the wake of this, Ubisoft will choose to release the gameplay footage in an official capacity.
