EA managed to drum up a lot of quick hype for Apex Legends by shadow-dropping the game back in early 2019. Now this week, we are seeing Ubisoft achieve equally impressive results, having announced Hyper Scape this week with partnerships in place to ensure a huge audience on Twitch.
Hyper Scape leaked earlier this week, but yesterday, Ubisoft officially announced the battle royale title, which pits players against each other in a futuristic city. All the while, cameras are rolling to capture the action, presumably for some future TV entertainment.

Just like Riot's new shooter, Valorant, Ubisoft has opted to grant closed beta test access via Twitch Drops. What this means is that interested players need to watch partnered streamers playing the game and hope to get access granted through Twitch.
At the time of writing, Hyper Scape is one of the most viewed categories on Twitch, with partnered streamers pulling in tens of thousands of viewers each. At one point last night, streamers like ‘Tfue' were pulling in upwards of 50,000 live viewers, which is pretty huge.
Right now, Hyper Scape is expected to remain in beta for a couple of weeks, with a proper, publicly accessible launch later in the month.
