After numerous delays, Ubisoft’s once-hyped Call of Duty competitor, “XDefiant”, has officially released. The game caught on with fans initially last summer thanks to a successful round of playtests. However, various issues led to the game’s release being delayed far longer than planned. Now that the game is out, its servers are quickly collapsing.
XDefiant hasn’t made a great first impression this week. The new shooter launched as a free-to-play title, inviting millions of players across PC, Xbox and PlayStation to download the game and start playing. Unfortunately, the game’s backend wasn’t up to the task, as players quickly began voicing complaints with not being able to find a game, or being disconnected entirely.
XDefiant project lead, Mark Rubin, has already stated on Twitter that the developers are looking into a fix, so hopefully that will be in place in time for the influx of players at the weekend.

KitGuru Says: Despite the delays leading to an ill-timed launch, I do hope that Ubisoft fixes things up quickly. I wasn't sure about Rainbow Six Siege at first either but that ended up becoming one of my most played shooters ever. If XDefiant gets things right for gameplay, it could end up on that list too for many people.
