Biostar announces two Radeon RX 5000 series graphics cards

Biostar is about to launch a couple of Radeon RX 5000 series graphics cards. Both the Biostar Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB and the Biostar Radeon RX 5700 XT 8GB feature reference clock speeds and a custom cooling solution for improved GPU cooling.

As per the packaging, these graphics cards belong to Biostar's “Extreme Gaming” series, but there are some differences in the cooling design. While the RX 5700XT shroud uses a three-fan design with slightly curved blades and a cleaner shroud with straight lines, the RX 5500XT uses a two-fan design with moderately curved blades and a more aggressive-looking shroud.

The Biostar Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB comes with a non-default port configuration, featuring an HDMI port, a DisplayPort and a DVI port. Just like the original AMD graphics card, the Biostar Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB clocks at 1717MHz when gaming, boosting up to 1845MHz, and features 8GB of GDDR6 memory clocked at 14Gbps.

Unlike the Biostar Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB, the Biostar Radeon RX 5700 XT 8GB comes with the default port configuration of 3x HDMI ports and a Display Port. The core and memory also come clocked at reference values, with the core base frequency set at 1605MHz, 1755MHz when gaming, and up to 1905MHz when boosting, while the 8GB GDDR6 memory is clocked at 14Gbps.

We are still waiting on pricing and availability information, but in the meantime, you can learn more about the Biostar Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB HERE, and the Biostar Radeon RX 5700 XT 8GB HERE.
