We had a good look at gameplay for Marvel's Avengers a while back and later this month, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics will be inviting us back to the War Table to show off even more of the game. This time around, we are likely going to get details on beta content, as the first closed and open beta dates have now been announced.
As part of an IGN First announcement, the beta dates for Marvel's Avengers were revealed. Those who pre-ordered on PS4 can start playing very soon, with the closed test beginning on the 7th of August. From there, the PS4 version will enter open beta on the 14th of August.
On August 14th, the closed beta for pre-order customers on Xbox One and PC kicks off. Finally, there will be an open beta period on all platforms starting on the 21st of August, meaning you can download and play a limited version of the game for free on your platform of choice.
The beta has been built “in such a way that you can experience most of the things that you'll be doing in the full game”, so you can expect a single-player campaign mission (or a few), a couple of co-op hero missions, as well as War Zones and Drop Zones. The latter two mission types are what will be discussed during the next War Table on July 29th.

KitGuru Says: I'm looking forward to trying this out for myself next month. Will many of you be testing out the beta version ahead of the game's September release?
