Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater is coming to Switch, suggests game files

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater is the latest series from Activision to be receiving the remake treatment. Set to arrive on the 4th of September, the game has currently only been announced for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. That being said, just like the other remakes, it appears as though THPS is coming to the Nintendo Switch – at least if the game’s demo files are anything to go by.

Discovered by Twitter user Darth Bellic, files found within the recently released Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 demo show off control layouts for both the Nintendo Switch, and its Pro controller, suggesting that the skating title will make its way to Nintendo’s system at some point in the future.

The Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy originally launched on the PlayStation 4 in June 2017, before coming to Switch almost exactly a year later. Spyro Reignited Trilogy meanwhile launched in November 2018 for PS4 and Xbox One; coming to Switch 10 months later in September 2019. The most recent remake, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled meanwhile launched concurrently for all three systems in June 2019. It is therefore interesting to see Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 see a delayed release on the Switch.

Of course, nothing is official until it is confirmed by Activision or Nintendo themselves. That being said, based on the previous remakes, it is highly likely that the Pro Skater remake will make its way onto the hybrid console eventually – though don’t be surprised if the game runs at 30fps.
