Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad is coming in 2022

Warner Bros. recently held its DC FanDome digital event which saw a number of new announcements and first looks across all different mediums. In the realm of video games, alongside an announcement for Gotham Knights – the next game from WB Montréal – the DC FanDome also unveiled the next game coming from Rocksteady, the creators of the Batman Arkham series.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is an action-adventure title coming in 2022 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC. Similarly to the recently announced Gotham Knights, Suicide Squad can be played either solo, or co-op – though this time with four total players instead of two.

As such, currently only four members of the Suicide Squad have been revealed, though there are likely to be more. The four playable characters are Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and King Shark.

Set in the same universe as the Arkham games, Brainiac has succeeded in controlling the minds of the Justice League and turning them evil, leading the Suicide Squad to be sent in to “Kill the Justice League.”

As the game won’t be released until 2022, not much is currently known beyond what was shown in the teaser trailer. That being said, it is still exciting nonetheless to finally know what Rocksteady have been working on since 2015. Furthermore, with the game being set in the same universe as the Arkham games, it’ll be interesting to see just how Suicide Squad ties into all the others.
