Asus introduces TUF Gaming power supplies

Asus is working on expanding its portfolio of power supplies with the new TUF gaming line of PSUs. Just like other TUF Gaming products, the core principle of this line of power supplies is to offer a value-oriented power solution without sacrificing quality.

The first PSUs of the TUF Gaming series will be available in 550W and 650W versions. Both have similar features that ensure the unit's durability, reliability, efficiency, and cooling capacity. The”Military-grade” capacitors and chokes are tested to ensure they work in a range of temperatures, while the protective PCB coating prevents and protects the unit against “short-circuits caused by moisture, dust, and debris”.

The 135mm dual bearing fan uses Asus' “axial-tech fan design” that improves airflow and dispersion, resulting in more pressurised air. Due to the use of 0db fan technology, the fans only start spinning at 30% of the unit's TDP.

Both the 550W and 650W units are certified with 80 Plus Bronze efficiency  and feature OPP, OVP, UVP, SCP, OCP and OTP safety protections.

Measuring 150x150x86mm, these power supplies come with multiple sleeved cables with connectors to power your system components, including a 4+4-pin CPU cable, a 24-pin MB cable, 2x SATA cables (5x connectors), and a peripheral cable (4x connectors). The 550W model only comes with 2x 6+2-pin PCI-E connectors, while the 650W model comes with 4x of the same connectors.

Pricing and availability details of the TUF Gaming power supplies are not known for now, but they will be backed by a 6-year warranty. You can learn more about these PSUs HERE.
