Temtem is coming to PS5 in 2021; current gen versions cancelled

Temtem caught everyone’s attention when it was released in Early Access for PC back in January. The Pokémon-inspired MMORPG took the familiar and much-loved formula first created by GameFreak all the way back in 1996, and expanded beyond Nintendo’s systems – all the while introducing its own identity. In the latest PlayStation State of Play, it was announced that Temtem is set to arrive on PlayStation in 2021.

As mentioned, Temtem first launched in Early Access for PC on the 21st of January 2020. The game saw immediate success, selling over 500,000 copies on Steam in its first month. The developers – Crema – later announced that the MMORPG would be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and (surprisingly) Nintendo Switch – though no date was given.

Though an exact release date is still unknown, it has been confirmed that Temtem will be coming to the PlayStation 5 in 2021. The developers have now announced that both the PS4 and Xbox One versions have been cancelled – though Switch is still set to receive the title.

Temtem is described as a “massively multiplayer creature-collection adventure.” which sees you “seek adventure in the lovely Airborne Archipelago alongside your Temtem squad. Catch every Temtem, battle other tamers, customize your house, join a friend's adventure or explore the dynamic online world.”

The game currently holds a Steam score of 9/10 across over 20,000 reviews, so its release on other platforms is undoubtedly exciting – especially on PlayStation and Xbox.
