Crysis Remastered is an Epic Games Store exclusive

Just last week, Crytek finally revealed new information about Crysis Remastered, which went on a bit of a hiatus after getting delayed earlier this year. The new update brought us details on what graphical improvements to expect on PC, Xbox One and PS4. One particular piece of information may be a little less welcome though, as the game is going to be an Epic Games Store exclusive.

While Epic Games has slowed down a bit on the timed exclusives front, it is still reeling in some big names. Crysis Remastered is just the latest to join that list, alongside the likes of Hitman 3 and the recently released Total War Saga: Troy.

When Crysis Remastered launches on the 18th of September, it will only be available on PC via EGS, although it could come to Steam in September 2021. If you're not the type to be put off by such deals, then here are the graphical improvements you can expect at launch:

Ray-traced reflections on water surfaces, all-new textures with up to 8K resolution, improved SVOGI Global Illumination, new depth of field techniques, support for Nvidia DLSS 2.0 and more. There is also a software-based implementation of ray-tracing, so non-RTX graphics card owners may be able to experience ray-tracing too. This software-based RT technique is also coming to the console version of Crysis Remastered on Xbox One X and PS4 Pro.
