Lenovo lists NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 SUPER and RTX 3070Ti

While updating its T5 and T7 gaming desktops specifications, Lenovo listed two new GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards: RTX 3070 Super and RTX 3070 Ti. As per the listings, the RTX 3070 Super will come with 8Gb of GDDR6 memory, while the 3070Ti will come with a whopping 16GB of GDDR6 memory.

The Geforce RTX 3070Ti with 16GB of GDDR6 memory was “confirmed” that it will be a GPU option on Lenovo T7 gaming desktops. On the other hand, the Lenovo Legion T5 28IMB05 spec sheet also shows an unannounced Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Super with 8GB of GDDR6 memory.

These SKUs have not been introduced or teased by Nvidia, but rumours regarding an RTX 3070 model with 16GB have been floating on the Internet for some time. Additionally, the exact name he's also an incognita, with some rumours suggesting that it's RTX 3070 Ti while others claim it's RTX 3070 Super. It's not clear if they are the same SKU or separate SKUs, but based on Lenovo's information, it looks like they will be two different graphics cards.

According to VideoCardz, Nvidia hasn't shared the specifications of its GPUs with AiB partners until close to the reveal of the RTX 30 series. Taking the Cuda core count as an example, some AiB partners still list wrong values. Additionally, the final BIOS of these graphics cards has only been recently given to partners. Given this behavior by Nvidia, there's a chance that Lenovo is still using old/wrong data to update its systems' specifications, as they did previously when listing a GeForce GTX 1180 graphics card.

In other news, the report also claims that the naming for the RTX 3060 “has not yet been decided”, but these same sources confirm that a GA104 GPU (RTX 3070) will receive a Super variant, leading us to believe that we will see an RTX 3070 Super at a later date, probably after the release of Big Navi graphics cards.

KitGuru says: If Nvidia launches any of these GPUs, when do you think they will be available? How will they compare with the recently announced RTX 30 series graphics cards?
