Sony to ‘explore’ bringing more exclusive PlayStation games to PC

This week, Sony released its 2020 Corporate Report, covering just about everything Sony has going on, how it is currently doing and the company's strategy in these areas moving forward. A portion of this of course focuses on PlayStation, giving us just a small bit of news about the future of the platform and more importantly to our readers, the future of Sony exclusives coming to PC.

In part of the report, Sony confirms that “competition from online PC games and players from other industries is expected to continue to intensify”. To combat this, Sony Interactive will “make proactive investments to reinforce content IP”, a statement that leads us nicely into Sony's plans for future PC games.

“SIE aims to achieve robust revenue growth by accelerating the virtuous cycle that has been established for the PlayStation Platform. This entails increasing active users and play time, enhancing network services and reinforcing content IP so that consumers select PlayStation as their platform of choice. Targeted outcomes include growth in active users, stronger retention and a shorter cash conversion cycle, from which expanded cash flow can be expected. We will explore expanding our 1st party titles to the PC platform, in order to promote further growth in our profitability.”

We have yet to learn if Horizon Zero Dawn's PC launch met Sony's expectations. However, it does appear that Sony is interested in bringing more PS4 titles to PC, with rumours suggesting that there are at least a few more in the works already.

KitGuru Says: What PS4 exclusive would you like to see on PC next? God of War and Spider-Man at 60+ frames per second would be nice to see.
