For the last few years, Arkane Studios has been working on a multiplayer game called Deathloop. While this title was originally due to launch for the PlayStation 5 and PC later this year, some additional time is needed, leading to a delay to Q2 2021.
Deathloop is a first-person game in a similar vein to Dishonored, where you play as an assassin with special powers. Over the course of the game, you will be tasked with taking down eight targets in order to reach your arch-nemesis and break out of the time loop you are stuck in. The motto for the game explains the concept quite well: “If at first you don't succeed, die and die again”.

As seen in the tweet above, Deathloop will no longer be coming to PS5 and PC this holiday season. Instead, it will now ship in the Q2 2021 window. This delay sadly comes down to the struggles that came with switching over to a work from home environment – something that has impacted productivity at plenty of game studios in the last few months.
It is an unavoidable situation, as studios like Arkane Lyon encourage social distancing and working from home to protect employees from catching or spreading the coronavirus. We will hopefully get an updated release date for Deathloop early next year.

KitGuru Says: While it is a shame to see another game pushed out of 2020, this should give developers more time to polish up their projects while remaining safe by working from home. Are many of you looking forward to Deathloop? Will you be getting it for PC or PS5 when it eventually comes out?
