Cyberpunk 2077 has reached a new development milestone

With Cyberpunk 2077 set to launch in just over two months, it is expected that CD Projekt Red would be reaching a stage in the game’s development where the title is mostly playable, with the focus now being on optimisations and bug squashing. It appears as though this is the case, as the developers have revealed that the upcoming RPG can now be platinumed.

Taking to Twitter to make the announcement, the QA Lead for CD Projekt Red – Łukasz Babiel – shared an image of the PlayStation 4 trophy dashboard featuring a 100% completion platinum file for Cyberpunk 2077, alongside the caption “Just a normal day at work.”

In response to a comment on whether the Platinum Trophy would require multiple playthroughs, CDPR’s Lead PR Manager cryptically answered with “Soon™”. Furthermore, when asked about total play time, Babiel answered: “Hard to tell right now as it was a collective effort and other tests were done in the meantime. But soon we'll have some Speedrun contests, so maybe I'll have more info then ;).”

Though achieving a Platinum Trophy doesn't necessarily mean completing everything possible in the game, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s Platinum Trophy requires the complete collection of all Gwent cards, and completing all Witcher contracts, to name a few – suggesting a rather comprehensive and thorough playthrough.

Despite receiving multiple delays, it is encouraging to see that Cyberpunk 2077 is finally nearing completion, with all signs pointing towards a smooth and exciting launch.
