Typically when EA releases a behind the scenes teaser for a game rather than a proper trailer, we see a lot of moans and groans. This year though, BioWare has been very quiet and we know that the next Dragon Age game is still a couple of years away. With that in mind, getting a behind the scenes look at the project in 2020 seems like a decent enough idea.
As part of Gamescom Opening Night Live this week, BioWare released a behind the scenes video on development of the next Dragon Age, complete with some early footage, concept art and voice acting.
As you would expect, Casey Hudson presents the video, walking the BioWare faithful through what the studio is up to and some of its broader, vague plans for the next Dragon Age. At one point, lead writer, Patrick Weekes, appears on camera to say that the team “want to tell a story of what happens when you don't have power” as well as “what happens when the people in charge aren't willing to address the issues”.
There is no release date yet, but production appears to be underway, so perhaps by this time next year, we'll have a clearer idea of when to expect this game. Another BioWare studio is currently also trying to get Anthem back off the ground. There are also rumours of a Mass Effect trilogy remaster being just around the corner.
KitGuru Says: BioWare is keeping busy as usual. Hopefully with this next Dragon Age, the studio will find its spark once again. Are many of you looking forward to the next Dragon Age game?
