Where the Water Tastes Like Wine is free on the Epic Games Store

Each week, the Epic Games Store offers a number of free titles to those with an Epic Games account. Replacing last week’s offering of Into the Breach is the narrative-driven adventure title ‘Where the Water Tastes Like Wine’ as well as the rail network simulation title ‘Railway Empire’. Both titles are available to purchase and download from now until the 17th of September.

Where the Water Tastes Like Wine is a narrative-focused adventure game where “Players wander across a folkloric Depression era United States at their own pace, meeting strangers with their own stories to tell”. In meeting these strangers, “players will be able to collect unique stories which can then be re-told to unlock new interactions”.

Though relatively light in gameplay, Where the Water Tastes Like Wine combines “3D overworld and hand drawn 2D illustrations” with “Original stories written by a wide selection of accomplished authors” alongside “A hauntingly beautiful original soundtrack arranged by celebrated composer Ryan Ike and featuring performances from a collection of gifted musicians” to create a uniquely atmospheric title.

Railway Empire does what it says on the tin: allows players to “create an elaborate and wide-ranging rail network, purchase over 40 different trains modelled in extraordinary detail, and buy or build railway stations, factories and attractions to keep your network ahead of the competition.”

Both Where the Water Tastes Like Wine and Railway Empire are available to download for free from now until the 17th of September.
