Tiger Lake processors spotted showing clock speeds of up to 4.8GHz

The Intel Core i7-1185G7 and Core i5-1135G7 have been spotted in the Geekbench 5 database. Given that Intel is about to launch the Tiger Lake architecture in just four days, it's possible that these specifications are final.

Starting with the Intel Core i7-1185G7, @TUM_APISAK shared on Twitter two entries of this processor on Geekbench 5. Based on the entries, it seems that the i7-1185G7 will feature 4 cores and 8 threads with a 3.0GHz base clock, boosting up to 4.8GHz. The entry also shows that this processor will feature 12MB of L3 cache. Additionally, we also got some details about the iGPU, which features 96EUs (Execution Units) and comes clocked at 1.55GHz, according to the benchmark result.

These specifications are quite the improvement over its Ice Lake predecessor. Besides the higher clock frequencies, the iGPU also has 50% more EUs and has a 40% higher clock speed. This results in an OpenCL score that it's around double of what a Core i7-1065G7 can do.

Intel Core i5-1135G7 entries have also been spotted by @davideneco25320. This processor also has 4 cores and 8 threads but comes with a base frequency of 2.4GHz, which boost up to 4.2GHz. The listing also shows that the Tiger Lake Core i5 processor will come with 8MB of L3 cache, and an iGPU featuring 80EUs clocked at 1.3GHz.

Compared to the Ice Lake Core i5-1035G7, the 1135G7 features 25% more EUs and 23.8% higher clock speeds. This improvement results in a Geekbench 5 score that is about 10% more than its predecessor in both single and multi-core performance.

If you want to know more about Intel Tiger Lake, they will be officially introduced during a virtual launch event scheduled for September 2nd.

KitGuru says: Will Intel Tiger Lake be a worthwhile upgrade over Ice Lake processors? Will it be enough to stay toe-to-toe with AMD, even with a lower core and thread count?
